Russell-

I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that I too am joining
the "Nipple Crusade" to bring you and Moxy Fruvous together in a joyous
bond. You kick ass...if I had a nickle for every time I've listened to
"Nipple" since I got it...well, I'd have quite a lot of nickles (and nipples?).
I think my favorite thing about you... other than the fact that you are a
fabulous musician...is that you are adorable AND nice! Performers that
come out and chat with their fans...that's what we love, need, and crave.
You and I were supposed to play pool, but we never got around to it. I
lost a little sleep over it, but I'm okay. My best friend XXXXX said that
she sat and chatted with you for quite a bit though...very cool. I can't
wait to see you perform again. With or without Fruvous, I'll be making the journey.

a hellacious nipple crusader,

XXXXX XXXXXX

Hi,
This is XXXXX, I met you last night after the show. I just wanted to
reiterate how much your show kicked ass! I was upset, however, when
finding out you were right here on the SUNY campus a month ago!! I'm
trying to find your cds (I don't like buying stuff online) so not only
can I convert all my friends to Fruvous fans but Wolff fans as well!
Bring some shows to NH (my hometown) or boston during break and I will
DEFINETLY be there!! Good luck on the rest of your tour, and I hope to
hear from you soon.

___________________________________________________________________

Hey Russ! I just saw you at northern lights!! great great show, thank
you so much. Hope to catch one of your performances again soon!

___________________________________________________________________

Great performance opening for Moxy Fruvous! Look forward to seeing
another show!

___________________________________________________________________

Finally I have returned from the show last nights with 2 hr sleep stops
along the way. By the way, I'm XXXXX. I saw the show and enjoyed it
muchly. Otherwise, why would I buy a CD and a nipple? I don't do that
for just anyone, you know =+). Anyway, I harassed Jonathan after the show
and told him that you guys need to play somewhere around Williamsburg. I
think to myself, "self, what could be more useful to these historical
folk than a bit o' nipple?" So there you have it; not that I didn't
trust that a bassist such as Jonathan to deliver the message, it just
gives me an excuse to say that I enjoyed the CDs power of amusing me
during a God awful road trip. So, yes, I exist, and you were all
loved... at least by me. On that note, I must finish my work and try to sleep!

Bunches o love

Hi there...I just wanted to write a quick note to say how awesome the show at
Clifton Park was. You guys kick some serious butt!

hi "me,"

hey, i caught your show saturday night in clifton park. you were
terrific, and a wonderful counterpart to moxy fruvous. i hope you guys
hook up again. i can't tell you how many mediocre acts i've seen open for fruvous. ;)

i'm in MD, so please do try and get down here soon!
i'd definitely go see you again.

peace,
XXXXX

YEEEEE-HAAAWW!!!!

that was my reaction to saturdays show! I'm not really one to write show
reviews but I can't help myself on this one.

ok to start off, the opening act!! Russell Wolff. WOW. What a GREAT
opening act, very energetic, very entertaining. Very Nipple. I couldn't
help but to buy his new cd and get a free pierced nipple keychain. I talked
to him for a few after the show and he asked me to send emails make calls or
whatever i could do to get him to open for fruvous again....so whatta ya say
gang, how bout it? I know I'd love to hear him again in concert.

___________________________________________________________________

Again, I apologize for my long-windedness... There's a straight set list at end.

First, I have to give some kudos to Russell Wolff, the opening act. He
handled the Früheads so well, had the greatest time ever, and played good
music. I never get tired of watching up-and-coming musicians enjoying
themselves. He was just overwhelmed by the response and it was awesome to
watch. Plus, he's funny. Highlight of his banter... with the gnomes making
another appearance, he started the night well when he said, "I reached down
for my water and I wasn't sure which gnome's head to suck on." Anyway, the
guy's great and his album is great (I couldn't resist buying it).
www.russellwolff.com That's all about that.

hello!

your show opening up for moxy fruvous this past saturday was BOMB! i
really enjoyed your energy and stage presence, and plan to purchase the
full-deluxe-gold version nipple package as soon as i get paid. thanks
again for playing, and i will use my (as yet untested) power as a loud
fruvous fan to press for more gigs with them.

be well,
XXXXX. a new russell wolff convert. what's my initiation duty?

I saw you open for Moxy on Dec. 4 in northern Lights. I have to say
that I thoroughly enjoyed your performance. You rock!
___________________________________________________________________

Hi Russell!!

I just read your letter to the Fruvous newsgroup/mailing list and wanted to
tell you that the very fact that you posted a thank you just adds to the list
of reasons I think you ROCK!

I had a great time during your set, it was awesome to get to meet you and chat
with you... and I really hope we'll get to see you in Toronto in February.

Have a great holiday, and take care!!! I LOVE the Nipple CD and the video :)
___________________________________________________________________

Saw you open for Fruvous at Clifton Park...you put on a great show,
had a great band, and I had a great time! I'm enjoying Nipple immensely.
___________________________________________________________________

Dude, your set totally rocked my world.

___________________________________________________________________

Play in Buffalo NY!!! Open for Fruvous New Years Eve!!!
You Rock!
___________________________________________________________________

I wish I had brain power for reviews... i just don't have the energy
anymore... but can I tell you this Man ROCKED the HOUSE?? He totally embraced
the Fruvous Penchant for Fun and was thusly embraced by Fruheads far and wide
(well, at least those of us Stage Murray)!

Between the flying free nipples, paying appropriate homage to the stage
Gnomes, his catchy lyrics and his obvious enjoyment at a Club full of raving
Fruheads... I think it was a great time for all.
I for one am starting a campaign to get him to open at one of the FruCon
shows... send letters, go to his website, order his CDs (he's even got a video
for one of his tracks on his latest CD, Nipple).

heya,

I saw you open for Moxy Fruvous the other night, and I must say that I
was really impressed.
Most of the time, when you're waiting for your favorite band to come
out, it sucks to sit through the openers; but I found myself hoping that
you guys would play longer.

I was the random girl who came up to you after your set to tell you that
I swore I had heard someone else play "If I Was A Cop" ... I've since
changed my mind and decided that I'm on crack and actually did see you
play it at Falcon Ridge.

Anyway! I more or less wanted to tell you that I think you were really
fucking amazing, and to reassure you that nobody has stolen your song :)

take care,
-XXXX-

Ok, now onto the usual Leopard Lady style review!

The opener rocked. Russell Wolff (sp? My great apologies if that's wrong!) is
so funny! Talented guitarist too...his style reminded me of a slightly tamer
Ani DiFranco's. (even though he uses picks.) ; ) I was thoroughly impressed.
Because his new album is called "Nipple," he had rubble nipples for baby
bottles with key chains "pierced" on them. Nipples were the source of at least
one of everyone's (and I mean everyone in the room everyone!) jokes that night.
___________________________________________________________________

Thank YOU, Russell for a fantastic show! I look forward to seeing you
again many times in the future.

___________________________________________________________________

We here at Stage Murray would like to officially state our enjoyment and
love of Russell Wolff :) Even though we were a little too far left to
get most of the free stuff that was thrown into the crowd, some of us
left the club with free nipples. Hurray! Seriously though, the guy is
very talented, funny, and quite friendly. I would not mind seeing him
open for Fruvous again (hint, hint!)

so, a little story from a casual ng lurker about the *fabu* russell wolff:

so i went to the clifton pk show on saturday, sick as a dog (or, as it
turned out, as a frulad) and fully stressed out after a long meeting and car
ride. was immediately cheered up by the great turnout to the show, and by
russell's energetic, thoughtful, and HILARIOUS set. (his guitar style also
strongly reminded me of ani's, especially on one particular song, the title
of which completely escapes me at present.)

cut past great show, impending exhaustion, sleeping through most of sunday,
and beginning of monday's workday. *snipsnipsnip*

while reading the ng (as is my bent, especially on slower mornings) i came
across his website address, so i checked it out. while there, i figured i'd
drop a line to tell him how great i thought the show was. i sent it from my
work email account (i work for a progressive student organization), as that
is the preference address set for Netscape mail. i also subscribed to the
maillist. *note that this seemingly frivolous info figures in later.*

so, about 20 minutes later, my work phone rings. it is, you guessed it,
russell wolff, calling to thank me for the email! my co-workers (who were
also at the show) and i were totally floored. he said that he was really
grateful for all the support he got at the show, and asked me if i knew any
folks who did programming at any campuses i worked with. long story
shorter, we chatted for about half an hour, and he was really friendly and
cool.

point of story: this guy is not only talented and funny, he is also loyal to
supporters and committed to getting his music out there is a grassroots kind
of way, which i, for one, really appreciate. i would highly recommend
checking out his site (www.russellwolff.com) and picking up some of his
music. hopefully, he will again be opening up for the frulads again
sometime soon!

hiya russell-

great show the other night!(clifton park) i am doing my part to talk you up
to anyone i know who could send a gig your way....you desreve it! hope you
make it north again real soon....
___________________________________________________________________

Just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how much I loved your set
opening for Fruvous in Clifton Park. We were all incredibly impressed by
you, as you must know well by now. :) You've definitely got the right vibe
to open for them. And I love that you're not just a novelty/funny act...you
swing both ways. <grin>

BTW, the woman playing the djembe (Candace? Colleen? Her name slipped my
mind and the signature's hard to read :) ) rocked my world. I have a thing
for drums, and she was incredibly cool to talk to after the show. (Saw
Eddie From Ohio the next night...love the drumming! Between Dave-o, you,
and Robbie, my weekend was full of cueballs!)

Thanks for working so hard to get to play for us...I hope even better
opportunities come your way. :) Ciao!
___________________________________________________________________

What else can I say that hasn't already been said? The show rocked! Since
I got back home, I've played the Nipple CD a few times, wore my Nipple
t-shirt on Monday to try and gain followers, and told other people to
listen to your music, mwahahahah. I also loved the Me and My Girl video!

Please come play in Rochester? :)

see your show again REAL soon!! =)
