To record an album

Well, I guess it’s been a while.  I just locked in studio time for the weekend of March 6th.  The band has been rehearsing 3 times a week in preperation.  I think we will be ready smile I have the final lineup of what’s being recorded.  It looks like a solid 12 new tunes.  Perhaps a treat may hide somewhere on there as has been the custom since the beginning.  It has been 12 years since a couple of friends from high school calling themselves “Herbal Tea” went in to a studio in Lake Hiawatha, NJ and recorded “Our Cup.” At the time, we were certain that legendary recording would catapult us to super stardom.  Well, it catapulted Jon into a Sociology degree from Trenton State.  And me into years of… hmmm, changing direction there, I have to say, I have never been more happy with the sound of the band.  These tunes are really strong, and VERY fun.  I can’t wait to bring you the record and the live show.  Keep emailing if you think we can come play at your colleges, or Bar Mitzvahs, or funerals, or high school proms!

“So, you wanna bite of my Chubby?”

That’s right!  Philly rocked.  I have such a blast every time I am down there.  I stopped in NJ on the way down and my friend drove from there.  Before the show, we stopped at Chubby’s.  The BEST steaks in all of Philly.  Come on, someone dispute this!  We got to the show and had such a great turn out.  The mood was just right, the crowd was prepared, the night went off without a hitch.  Sorry about the tuning :( So, after the show, there was the inevitable late night jam.  Leigh also took a run out to Chubby’s for round 2 of the cheesesteaks.  I think we over shot our intestines there.  Oh well.  It’s 24 hours later and I am still alive.  We got back to NJ around 4:30AM.  I slept until the sun started to piss me off.  I got to see my brother and some friends today.  As irrational as it may seem, I already long to eat another Chubby.

A Harvard Man

So, I came home yesterday to an enormous envelope in the mailbox.  Now, it is tax season, so I was a bit suspicious.  To my utter shock and surprise, it was an envelope from Harvard.  I have been accepted into the undergraduate degree program.  The good news didn’t stop there.  They accepted a full TWO YEARS of transfer credits from Montclair State in NJ.  And, it turns out, due to my performance over the last year of taking classes there, I have a 3.58 GPA.  I tried to get my family on the phone.  Finally got to mom.  She nearly drove off the road.  She wants all those hokey “Proud mom of a Harvard student” stickers for the car.  Next was grandma.  I made sure she was sitting down.  (She developed a nasty falling down and breaking things habit this year) I informed her she had to stick around at least two more years, so she could come to my graduation in 2006.  She was so happy.  She said I give her something to live for.  I love my grandma so much.  Next was my brother.  Never quick to show emotion, he accepted the news online via AIM.  Still, I could tell how proud he was.  I wasn’t able to reach any friends by phone, but then my father called.  He just told me how proud he was of me.  These things happening in my life today… Someone like me, who came from where I came from.  These things don’t happen to people like me.  I feel so lucky to be doing this, to be following this completely unpredictable path called life.  We will have a huge party and concert when I graduate.  You are all invited!  -rw

The cat is out of the bag

I just couldn’t wait any longer.  I know I said Valentine’s Day, but I’m single and we all know the day sucks anyway!  So, without further ado, PLEASE take your asses and ears over to WOLFFradio and give it a spin.  I am so happy.  Thanks again to my wonderful friends Jim Infantino and Tanya Stepasiuk (sp) for making this possible.  Guys, tear it up!!!

Deadlines

How did this happen?  The webradio is ready to launch and the deadline isn’t until Saturday!  This is insane.  A real change in my life seems to have occured.  It’s not only the webradio.  Things are getting a bit more organized at home.  My apartment is much more organized and the space is managable.  I can have guests over without 1,000 apologies.  Even school has gotten into the act.  I am actually READING the books I need to read BEFORE getting to class.  This is no small feat for someone like myself who has avoided reading for most of his adult life.  I am reading about one book per week and I love it.  Who knew?  If things keep going this well, I may get married sometime before I retire!  Yes, anything is possible.
